KATIE Asplin, Communications Manager for Alphabet, has been awarded the Rising Star Award at this year’s Credit Strategy Car Finance Awards, recognising her hard work and dedication to the industry over the past year.

The Car Finance Awards champion the best in class to inspire the entire sector to continue to deliver outstanding services. It remains the only awards programme to connect dealers, lenders and brokers and celebrates excellence across a number of areas in the vehicle industry, including finance, technology, diversity and inclusion, exceptional performance, and sustainability.

Katie was formally appointed her current role in late 2020 after stepping in at a particularly turbulent time from her position in the marketing team, as the pandemic hit. She proved herself an invaluable part of Alphabet’s COVID-19 response, pioneering the communications approach throughout and assembling and spearheading the crisis response team to develop a people-first strategy, to help businesses navigate the uncertainties.

She has also continued to push the company’s digital marketing strategy forward, designing tools to help teams across the business improve customer journey mapping and experience, and has been central to helping raise awareness of driver mental health within Alphabet and the wider industry.

Suzanne Gray, Head of Marketing and Business Development, Alphabet (GB) said: “We’re delighted to see Katie receive such fantastic recognition, as she truly epitomises the Rising Star Award. Not only is she an outstanding communications professional, but she brings a unique passion, vision, and drive to her work, which has been instrumental to our customers’ journeys throughout the pandemic.

“Katie’s progressive thinking and enthusiasm for change has created significant impact both internally and externally and is paving the way for others across the business, so it’s fantastic to see her recognised by the wider industry.”
