GETTING back to business as usual after Coronavirus? Or will everything change? Here’s how the Leasing Broker Federation can help.

Since March the Covid-19 pandemic has seen business almost come to a complete standstill and as lockdown eases and the industry gets back into gear, are you ready and what preparations are you making?

This week we reported that the Leasing Broker Federation’s recent survey shows that 60% of members believe they will be fully operational in a month or less. watch out for the report on how brokers are coping with opening which is publishing next week…

However, with strict Covid-19 health and safety guidelines to comply with and changes in consumer behaviour to address, it’s not simply a case of ‘business as usual’.

Rather, the sector must embrace change and make critical preparations to maximize pent up opportunity and future-proof their businesses for successful operation in a post-pandemic world.

Social distancing

The enforcement of social distancing measures and consumer nervousness around making trips out of the home, means that the way deals are done is changing, said outsourced communications provider Moneypenny – read more here.

If you’re preparing the office to re-open, the coronavirus outbreak has changed life as we know it and forced businesses from all sectors to adapt quickly and change the way they operate.

Protecting staff and customers

The most important thing is to protect staff, customers and anyone entering the workplace environment.

Top priority is sanitisation. Filta, which has been working for many years in the food service industry, has developed a comprehensive package of services and products to help businesses keep staff and customers as safe as possible and to eliminate the threat of COVID-19 in the workplace.

Its FiltaShield sanitising service benchmarks premises back down to a 0.001% level of contamination with an approved solution which is effective against all enveloped viruses,i ncluding all coronavirus and 2019-nCoV/ SARS-CoV-2 as well as a wide range of microbial species.

We are already hearing from some satisfied customers already with the office screens recommended by the Leasing Broker Federation

UKcarline has found the CONFCARE screens easy to assemble and fix in place, providing a good quick solution to protect and help staff feel at ease.

The systems are easy to install, lightweight, adaptable to different geometries, flexible, removable, easy to move and roll, durable plus they are easy to clean and disinfect.

The system forms a thin barrier without creating human and emotional separation with customers and other people.

Cyber security

Maybe your business will continue working from home or even back in the office are you safe from online scams?

Cyber criminals are targeting businesses with Coronvirus-related scams on a large scale, so how do you protect yourself and your staff?

Many of the scams try to steal personal data, intellectual property, and wider information through email, browsing, cloud, WiFi, software and hardware which could be exposed to viruses, data breaches, loss of data and loss of connectivity.

The Leasing Broker Federation which has partnered with Focus Group, can help with some free Coronavirus phishing scams training.

The Federation and Focus are also offering discounts on Microsoft 365 accounts to help save costs.

Training

Some staff may remain on furlough for a while yet, so a great opportunity to improve employee’s knowledge and skills during down time.

By investing in your employee’s development whilst on furlough they will feel valued and not feel like they are pushed to one side and forgotten about.

It’s important to point out that legally, furloughed staff can participate in training.

The Leasing Broker Federation’s Training Campus is designed to deliver useful, relevant and value-adding training courses to all Leasing Broker staff, whether they work in Sales, Customer Service, Operations, Finance or Senior Management.
