Federation has a new supporter in cap hpi

CAP HPI is welcomed into the fold as a supporter of the Leasing Broker Federation.

With a history dating back to 1938, the data and technology business has changed the way the industry and people think about vehicles and mobility.

It now create apps that push boundaries and innovate business, underpinning the automotive industry from when the vehicle leaves the factory to its sale, maintenance, different owners to when it is scrapped.

hpi was originally founded at Britain’s first ever vehicle provenance check with cap and its famous black book coming along in 1978. The red book followed ushering in a new era of commercial vehicle values .

In 2002 hpi launched a new online service to motor trade customers, including hpi exchange – the online vehicle stock publishing facility. That same year, cap released the capCalc reforecaster and monitor smr services.

Three years later came cap market value manager while, hpi launched driveaway Insurance, the free 7 day insurance cover.

In 2008 it was acquired by Solera, a leading global provider of claims solutions. cap launched valuation anywhere, allowing dealers to access values in the office and on the road in seconds.

hpi crushwatch enables law enforcement agencies to check vehicles prior to disposal and hpi finance gateway allows dealerships to provide forecourt finance to their customers.

In 2012 the national mileage register, offering protection against clocked cars, hit 150 million readings and hpi went mobile and the famous hpi spec check arrived, offering information about optional extras.

This year also saw the launch of black book live, allowing customers unique access to continually up-to-date car values.

As part of the Solera family, cap and hpi joined to become one company, offering comprehensive, high quality services and solutions across the automotive industry. hpi MOT is added to the hpi check tool, free of charge.

Two years ago the last of cap hpi’s printed black, green and red books went to print as the business advanced to a digital format.

cap hpi puts technology at the centre of all data activities, from collection and processing, through to delivery and the development of new applications.

 It operates from an international hub in the UK; that ensures its systems, coding, data collection processes, and valuation methodologies are consistent, scalable, repeatable and of the highest quality for every country. Valuations and forecast data are managed by local industry experts to ensure insight is added to each data set to enhance accuracy.
