SIX months ago Cameron Clarke Leasing took the bold decision to become an Appointed Representatives of Select Car Leasing with the aim of growing its business and increasing profitability.

Steven Clarke, Principal at Select Car Leasing Preston Office and a Cameron Clarke Director, said: “After 25 years of the opportunity to enter into partnership with Select felt like a perfect fit from the off.

“We were really impressed with the drive and ambition of Select and felt there was a real synergy between the two companies in the way we do business and the passion we have for the industry.

“Select is the best known car leasing company in the country, with a strong brand identity and an unrivalled online presence in the industry.  Becoming a part of that was really a no-brainer for us.”

Fellow Principal and Cameron Clarke Director, Tony Cameron, added: “Everything here runs like a well-oiled machine. From sales to administration, pricing and marketing there are effective processes in place to ensure the business keeps ticking over.

“We weren’t sure if our treatment might be slightly different, coming in as an AR, but it’s been the complete opposite. Nothing is too much trouble for anyone and we’ve had support and assistance at every turn we’ve needed it.

“The people at Select were one of the key reasons we made the decision to become an AR. There is a positive culture, where everyone is pulling in the same direction for the long-term growth and future success of the business.

“That comes from the passion and drive of the owners and filters through to every area aspect of the business.”

Clarke added that the business had been given all the tools and support required to ensure a smooth setup of a successful Select AR in Preston.

“Both myself and Tony have been blown away with the way we’ve been welcomed into the Select business. We’ve been included in key discussions from the off and we have a voice in the future plan and growth. It really does feel like we are already part of the Select family.

“At Cameron Clarke, we were largely focused on existing customers and a small pool of new leads. Since becoming a Select AR our new inquiries have increased ten-fold.

“We are expanding our own platform in Preston with more staff to cater to the increase we’ve seen. I’m confident in saying we wouldn’t be in that position had we not taken the decision to come on board with Select.”

One of the key benefits of becoming an Appointed Representative of Select Car Leasing, said Cameron, is that it safeguards the future of the business.

“We really like the fact that it is still 100% our own business. Select does not tell us how to run our business but they have given us the tools, systems, training and support along with power of brand and marketing to enable us to be more effective and efficient by increasing leads, conversion and profit.

“There will be other brokers in the UK, perhaps in a position we were in a few months ago, who might be considering becoming an AR of Select.

“Having made that step, we couldn’t recommend it enough. Especially right now, in an uncertain time. Joining with Select is without question one of the best business decisions we’ve made.”
