CHRIS Swallow of Hitachi was presented with Central Contracts’ Funder of the Year award at the broker’s annual awards and champagne event.

Meanwhile Hyundai was awarded Manufacturer of the Year.

Mike Lloyd said that the Funder of the Year Award was recognition that Hitachi Capital Vehicle Solutions had come further than any of the other funders in constantly refining the product, as well as recognising the company’s systems.

Mike Lloyd, managing director of Central Contracts commented:

“I’m very pleased for Chris Swallow, Chris has done much to enhance the broker offer as well as creating a philosophical change. We have a partner that is acting like a partner.”

Gareth Thomas, contract hire sales manager for Hyundai, who picked up the Manufacturer of the Year Award said:

“After a fantastic year with Central Contracts we were delighted to be awarded Manufacturer of the Year. It’s testimony to Central Contracts’ great team and the products Hyundai now has for the broker channel that ultimately led to such a successful year.”

Other winners were:

  • Supplier of the Year 2017: Jim “Two Times” Davidson
  • Team Member of The Year 2017: Karen Lander
  • Fleet Administrator of the Year 2017: Phil Hendry
  • Funder of the Year 2017: Hitachi Capital Vehicle Solutions
  • Manufacturer of the Year 2017: Hyundai Motor UK
  • Dealer of the Year 2017: J T Hughes Hyundai

Lloyd added: “Our awards are subjective but it is something the whole company takes very seriously and is a matter for sometimes heated debate. But recognition is always good.”

The awards were held at The Upper House, Barlaston, in Stoke-on-Trent.
