INTELLIGENT Car Leasing (ICL), has hit back at racist attacks against a trio of basketball players by providing them with a brand new Volkswagen T-Roc free of charge for three years.

The company took action after hearing that three new basketball players at the Glasgow Rocks club had been subjected to sickening racial abuse by providing them with the new SUV to literally get them back on the right road again.

Headquartered in Glasgow, ICL is part of the Fleet Alliance Group, which has 30,000 vehicles under management, and currently provides new car finance solutions for private customers, SMEs and medium-sized businesses through a network of preferred funders.

Glasgow Rocks chiefs said they’d been ‘deeply saddened’ when new signings, David Mpondo, Julius van Sauers and Marc Kwedi, were victims of racist attacks within weeks of joining the Emirates Stadium-based club.

As well as having to move home following the series of incidents, the trio’s car was vandalised with its tyres slashed and windscreen smashed with a hammer.

To show their support and their stand against racism, bosses at ICL have now handed the keys to a brand-new VW T-Roc car to the players for three years, solving any transport problems following the attacks.
