MOTORFINITY is to sponsor a motorcycle for IMPS, a community youth group that had a lasting impact on Chief Executive Daniel Briggs when he was growing up.

Founded by Roy Pratt, the IMPS is a not-for-profit organisation that supports children and young people through a specially designed programme of activities, chosen to provide structure and vital life skills. Renowned for its world-famous motorcycle display team, the team puts a particular focus on teaching its members to repair, maintain and ride motorbikes – something which ignited a life-long passion for Briggs.

To mark its 50th anniversary, the IMPS has partnered with TV motorbike adventurer Charley Boorman to launch the Buy a Bike campaign. In order to help more young people achieve a sense of purpose and pride as part of the display team, the group is looking to fundraise for 18 new motorcycles. Looking to give back to an organisation that gave him so much, Daniel Briggs said he was thrilled to be able to support the campaign and donate a bike on behalf of Motorfinity.

He said: “The IMPS played such an important role in shaping who I am today and gave me so many great memories and experiences over the ten years I was a member. Thanks to Rob’s military background, we were not only taught physical skills but also leadership skills, discipline and how to be part of a team.

“I had the privilege of visiting them recently where they put on a great display. It was heartwarming to see so many young people still benefiting from what the team offers; setting them on a positive pathway in life. Myself and Motorfinity as a whole are delighted to be able to be a part of the IMPS’ Buy a Bike campaign and support them after all they did for me.”
IMPS has visited the likes of Canada, Norway and Singapore, performing at military events, agricultural shows, and the Edinburgh Military Tattoo.
