ROD McLeod has been appointed as the new director of Skoda. His appointment commences February 01, 2018.

McLeod replaces Duncan Movassaghi who moves to Volkswagen in North America as senior vice president of sales.

McLeod joined Volkswagen in 1996, and has worked across a variety of disciplines, including senior roles in fleet, product, and as head of marketing, where he was responsible for product specification, pricing and advertising for all models.

His most recent role, as head of sales operations for Volkswagen, saw the brand buck the market trend and grow to an 8.2% UK share.

Commenting on his new appointment, McLeod said:

“The development of the Skoda brand over the past few years has been extremely impressive, and with the recent launches of the new Karoq and Kodiaq, it has a strong and enviable model line-up. I am really looking forward to working with the UK team and all dealer partners to continue the momentum.”

Volkswagen Group managing director, Paul Willis, added:

“Rod’s expertise and wide-ranging experience will prove invaluable as Skoda readies itself for the next phase of its substantial growth plans.

“I would like to thank Duncan for leading Skoda over the past two years. His guidance and direction have proved pivotal in the successful repositioning of the brand, and the increased sales and record-breaking market share that have followed.“

Replacing McLeod as head of sales operations will be Patrick McGillycuddy.
