SELECT Car Leasing has agreed a partnership with sustainable energy solutions provider Egg to become an official partner for electric vehicle (EV) charging point subscriptions. Through the deal, Select Car Leasing customers that sign up to Egg’s £30-per-month home EV charger subscription will receive their first month free.

The offer is available to individual customers as well as those leasing electric cars or vans through Select’s Fleet Solutions corporate division.

Shane Pither, Head of Automotive Innovation for Select Car Leasing, said: “Leasing is an affordable gateway to driving a green vehicle and it makes perfect sense that a driver paying monthly for their car would opt to pay for a home EV charger on a similar basis,” said . “Egg has the first subscription-based model on the market and by extending this service to our customers, we’re helping them realise the convenience and affordability of running an EV, particularly when charging happens at home.”

“We’re delighted to be partnering with Select Car Leasing which shares our commitment to making the switch to EVs hassle-free and affordable for drivers and fleet managers,” said Steve Springett, B2C Director at Egg.

Select Car Leasing has a total fleet of over 55,000 cars nationwide, including a rapidly growing proportion of electric cars and vans. In the past year, Select Car Leasing has seen enquiries for EVs rise dramatically as more motorists turn to electric in the wake of rising fuel costs, fuel shortages and long delivery timeframes for those purchasing EVs.
