Rob Whalley, Director, APD Global Research

Rob Whalley is a director of APD Global Research and has over 30 years’ experience within the automotive and research industries. He is in regular touch with clients and manages the PR and marketing of the group. He is also the conduit for developing relations with the Leasing Broker Federation. He held the role of managing director in a number of automotive and insight businesses before joining APD in 2015.


Nigel Morris

Nigel Morris, Tax Director, MHA MacIntyre Hudson

Nigel Morris is a motor industry specialist and has worked on a large number of car consulting projects, including the development and design of bespoke arrangements for clients, including ECOS, salary sacrifice and car fleet arrangements. He is also an employment tax specialist and deals with planning and compliance in areas such as termination payments, NMW, expenses and benefits.


Richard Parkin

Richard Parkin, Director, Strategy Advisory, Grant Thornton UK LLP

Formerly Glass’s Director of Valuations, Richard Parkin joined Grant Thornton in 2014 within the Strategy and Commercial Advisory team, with a focus on automotive services.  Since then, he has advised numerous rental, contract hire, broker and vehicle finance firms on all aspects of the market from supply through to disposal, as well as customer demand for the purposes of accelerating growth, or securing, investment funding.

Jeff Knight, UK Forecast Manager, CAP HPI

Jeff Knight joined cap hpi in 2001 and has over 40 years of automotive experience. Before joining cap hp, Jeff held various engineering, management, sales and vehicle pricing roles, including 11 years in the retail sector. His role at cap hpi is to manage the manufacturer contact for the future forecast team in support of new vehicle introductions.

Mike Friend, Head of Business Development ,Honchō

Mike Friend is Head of Business Development at Honchō, an automotive search marketing specialist agency. Mike has over seven years of agency-side experience in digital marketing with automotive brands, including Group 1 Automotive, Pentagon, Renault Retail, Tilsun Group and Motorline Direct, and helps companies to develop practical strategies across all areas of search.

Jon Horsfield, CEO and founder, Diode Fleetpower

Jon Horsfield is CEO and founder of Diode Fleetpower which helps businesses to build an electrification roadmap, then works with a pool of leading suppliers in each vertical market to deliver this. Prior to this he was Head of Sales – Homecharge, Fleet and Leasing Europe at Podpoint with a brief to further expand relationships with car manufacturers, leasing companies and fleet teams across Europe, managing a highly driven team.

James Cowan, Charging Manager – EV Charging and E-Mobility solutions, Domestic and Commercial, Webasto Group

James Cowan is the European Co-Ordination Manager EV Charging and E-Mobility Solutions at Webasto Group, which has more than 75 years of experience as a major supplier to the automotive industry. Now working in the ever changing field of electro-mobility, he is helping to develop solutions to accelerate the uptake of electric vehicles across Europe, which involves understanding international trends and supporting customers to make electrifying choices for the future of mobility.

Dominic Phinn, Business Engagement Co-ordinator, Client Earth

Dominic Phinn joined Client Earth in April 2017 and works within the Clean Air team. He currently advises companies on how to align their corporate strategies with social and environmental issues, and works with a range of businesses to understand the technology and business model solutions that will be part of a zero emission transport system and to provide progressive businesses with a voice in the debate.


Ian Featherstone

Ian Featherstone, Account Manager, Supply Chain, Energy Saving Trust

Ian Featherstone is Account Manager, Supply Chain at the Energy Saving Trust – the organisation dedicated to help people and businesses save energy with a dedicated transport team. His roles include providing technical support for the Trust’s extensive work supporting private and public organisations transition to Ultra Low Emission Vehicles. Ian leads the Trust’s work with the new and used vehicle supply chain, helping the sector understand and effectively sell electric cars and vans.
